Here is another small sketch from the Xavier Rudd concert. I sketch with a fountain pen and add the paint later. It's a great exercise as there is no camera involved. Everything is drawn on site. You only have a few minutes to capture the scene. I paint over the sketch later capturing the scene from memory. It's an exercise in "Seeing."

At the Xavier Rudd Concert

Sketched at the Xavier Rudd concert here in Ottawa the other night. What a fantastic show. If you ever get the chance to see him live, it is well worth it. I am carrying a much smaller moleskin sketchbook these days - one that fits in my pocket. It's great having my sketchbook with me always.
